The History

mustang lakes history

Mustang Lakes has managed to maintain its peaceful rural qualities while also having the amenities needed for comfortable living. Developed by The Cambridge Companies, the land was once a ranch known as Twin Eagles Farms for thoroughbred horses. For several years, the horses were raised, bred, and trained by their owner, Bob Folsom, the former mayor of Dallas. Many of the horses went on to win several awards including, Reluctant Stranger, who won Mare of the Year in 1989. To this day, several paddocks and barns can still be found on the property, and Mustang Lakes strives to keep the spirit of the ranch alive by maintaining the property’s sprawling plains and gorgeous flora and greenery.
